First Full Accoyo Suri Alpaca Herdsire Arrives in Texas

Round Rock, TX (PRWEB) April 12, 2008 -- Wisteria Suri Ranch welcomes the first full Accoyo Suri alpaca herdsire, Accoyo Dave's Othello, to Texas.

According to AlpacaNation, the leading marketplace for alpaca farms, Accoyo Dave's Othello will be the first full 100 percent Accoyo Suri herdsire in Texas and the South Central region.

Accoyo genetics have been highly sought after by top breeders nationwide for their slick, lustrous, and dense fleece.

Leanne Nakashima at Eldora Suri Alpacas who owns premier Accoyo herdsires explains, "The Futurity Auction is considered the pacesetter for the industry each year, featuring top Suri alpacas selected from hundreds of candidates submitted from top breeders all over the country. Ninety percent of the Suri alpacas selected for the 2008 Futurity Auction have Accoyo lineage. What better way to gauge the power of Accoyo genetics to improve and perfect all types and colors of Suri Alpaca?"

Accoyo Dave's Othello was purchased from Daniel Adams at Adams Suri Alpacas, one of three farms who make up the renowned Accoyo Partners Ltd.

A study by the Accoyo Partners Ltd. showed high correlation between Accoyo genetics and show ring success. In 2007, 100 percent of the color champions at the most competitive Futurity Show had Accoyo genetics. In 2006 at the Alpaca Owners and Breeders Association (AOBA) National Show, similar results were seen in 86 percent of the champions.

Accoyo Dave's Othello will give Texans and other South Central ranchers an opportunity to improve the genetics of their herd locally.

Accoyo Dave's Othello is hosted by Jeannie Wells of Wellspring Suri Alpacas in Boerne, TX.

Introductory specials will be announced soon for fall 2008 breedings. To get on the priority notification list, please contact Wisteria Suri Ranch.
